At PT Education Pathways, the safety, wellbeing and welfare of every student is our highest priority. We are committed to providing a secure, supportive and positive environment throughout every stage of the student’s programme in the UK.
Our welfare and safeguarding policies are clear, comprehensive and apply to all members of our team, local representatives and host families. Safeguarding and child protection form an integral part of our staff training, ensuring everyone understands their responsibilities and the importance of protecting young people.
All relevant staff and host families undergo appropriate criminal record and safeguarding checks before working with students. Every host family is carefully interviewed and assessed, with accommodation checks completed to ensure that the home environment is safe, suitable and welcoming.
Our experienced management and welfare teams understand the requirements of international high school and cultural exchange programmes. Students have access to ongoing support throughout their stay, while our team maintains regular communication with students, schools and host families.
We believe that excellent welfare is fundamental to a successful international education experience. Our aim is to ensure that every student feels safe, supported, valued and confident throughout their time in the UK.

Host Families
Our host families are at the heart of the PT Education Pathways High School programme experience. For many students, their host family becomes a genuine home away from home — providing friendship, encouragement, support and a welcoming introduction to British family life. The relationship they develop can become one of the most memorable and meaningful aspects of their time in the UK.
We carefully select, interview and match every student with a suitable host family, taking into consideration their individual needs, interests, preferences, age, programme requirements and personal circumstances. Our aim is to create a positive relationship from the outset, helping students settle quickly, feel comfortable in their new surroundings and develop confidence in their everyday life in the UK.
Our host families come from diverse backgrounds and communities across the UK. Some have children of their own, while others are households without children. They may live in towns, cities, suburbs or rural communities, providing students with the opportunity to experience different aspects of British life. What they share is a genuine commitment to welcoming international students, supporting young people and embracing the principles of cultural exchange.
We recognise that moving to another country can be both exciting and challenging, particularly for younger students experiencing their first extended period away from home. A welcoming host family can make a significant difference, providing a familiar and supportive environment where students can ask questions, share their experiences and gradually become more confident in their new surroundings.
Living with a host family offers students far more than comfortable accommodation. It provides an authentic opportunity to experience British family life, practise English every day, share meals and family experiences, discover local traditions and develop a deeper understanding of UK culture. Students can experience everyday life from a local perspective while developing communication skills, independence and greater cultural awareness.
For parents, knowing that their child is living in a carefully selected, supportive and welcoming home provides valuable reassurance. Our commitment to careful host-family selection, appropriate safeguarding procedures and ongoing welfare support means that students are supported throughout their stay.
For students, a host family can become much more than a place to live. It can provide friendship, encouragement, cultural understanding and a genuine sense of belonging. Many of the relationships developed through international exchange continue long after the programme has ended, creating lasting friendships and connections between families and cultures.
